Join SIM Chicago for a personal, in-depth discussion with Danielle DuMerer, former CIO of the City of Chicago, who has recently  chosen as the 2019 CIO of the Year by SIM Chicago, AITP and the Executives Club of Chicago. Nominations were made by CxOs and senior business & IT executives, and all judging and elections were done by peers in the IT community.

In her role as CIO for City’s Department of Innovation and Technology, Danielle led a team working to improve how residents interact with government by creating more responsive and accessible digital services. • Implementing the Array of Things in partnership with U of Chicago and Argonne National Lab to deploy network of sensors nodes to measure the impact of livability in City neighborhoods.
  • Creating an IT Governing Strategy across 31 departments to ensure alignment with City priorities
  • Implementing creative ways to keep her diverse IT talent from turnover.  Danielle has envious statistics, 39% of her staff are minority, while 40% of her staff are female
